Director HR Governance and Policy

This position will directly report to the VP of Human Resources and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices align with applicable employment laws, rules, and regulations. **Essential Functions of Position** + Ensures company compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations (federal, state, and industry) by monitoring changes, staying updated on legislation, and working with necessary stakeholders to update and/or implement necessary adjustments. + Leads the review and development of human resources policies and procedures and the company handbook, ensuring clarity, relevance, and alignment with business goals and best practices. + Maintains the company handbook and necessary documentation of human resources policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring they are accurate, compliant, and accessible to leaders and associates. + Partners with human resources leaders to align practices with organizational needs and/or challenges. + Develops processes for consistent application and enforcement of company policies; including participating in the development and delivery of training related to HR-related policies, procedures, and processes, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability. + Evaluates and recommends improvements to current policies and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. + Performs necessary analysis to understand business impact of HR practices and makes recommendations for improvement. + Conducts periodic reviews of HR records and processes to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement. + Collaborates and aligns with other departments (e.g. legal, compliance, operations) as necessary and participates in policy governance committee on behalf of human resources. + Works with external vendors to ensure compliance-related services meet regulatory requirements and organizational standards. + Performs other duties as assigned. **About You** **Specialized Knowledge/Skills** + Expertise in Human Resources practices and employment law, HR-related industry regulations (e.g. federal, state, ACHC) + Advanced ability to write clear, concise, and effective HR materials including the associate handbook, policies, and procedures that are compliant and align with organizational objectives. + Advanced ability to evaluate company practices, identify compliance risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies. + Strong ability to establish cohesive partnerships and work collaboratively across departments and with diverse teams. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex regulations and assess company impact. + Proficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and achieving objectives. + Capable of maintaining confidentiality of all associate, patient, and company information. + Advanced ability to think strategically and make recommendations that will support organizational needs, concurrent to departmental needs. **Education/Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in human resources or certificate from accredited paralegal program; Master’s degree preferred. + At least seven years of experience in human resources-related role including experience with policy development and maintaining compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. + At least three years’ experience working in a multi-state healthcare organization, strong preference for home-based care industry experience. **License/Certification** + HR certification (e.g. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred. + Valid driver’s license and insurance coverage. **Training/Equipment** + Strong computer skills to include advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. + Ability to learn new systems and technology, including HRIS. **We Offer** + Comprehensive Benefits Package: Health Insurance, 401k Plan, Tuition Reimbursement, PTO + Opportunity to participate in a Fleet Program + Competitive Salaries + Mileage Reimbursement + Professional growth and development opportunities **Legalese** + This is a safety-sensitive position + Employee must meet minimum requirements to be eligible for benefits + Where applicable, employee must meet stage specific requirements + We are proud to be an EEO employer + We maintain a drug-free workplace ReqID: 2025-117901 Category: Human Resources Position Type: Full-Time Company: Gentiva Type of Service: All Divisions
