The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

In GRS North America, we utilize deep expertise to process claims efficiently and accurately, with the goal of being the most trusted advisors for our distribution partners and customers in the Workers Compensation industry. We are embarking on a multi-year business transformation focused on achieving this aspiration. We are modernizing our legacy Workers Compensation applications and processes to drive scalable, secure technology with a focus on stability and efficiency.

The program will focus on delivering the best outcomes for our customers and injured workers, enhanced experiences for our employees, increased productivity, and best in class insights from our data. It marks a pivotal moment in our organization's growth and commitment to operational excellence as we build the (re)insurer of the future.  

 

 

The Director II, Data Strategy role is aligned to the business transformation program as the Business Data Lead and is responsible for laying out the vision for the data strategy roadmap, data governance including lineage and data definition as well as navigating and addressing ambiguous business problems through capabilities achieved in the roadmap. Ties the roadmap to missions that improve the customer experience, as measured by relevant KPIs. Works with Data Product Management and the business to ensure that data use cases will build and leverage the data capabilities outlined. Independently, works at the highest authority limits on assignments reflecting the highest degree of technical and strategic complexity and coordination. Possesses a high level of technical and industry knowledge.

 

Responsibilities

 

Owns the data strategy roadmap for the programSets the strategic vision for the data strategy roadmap, which will be used to drive alignment among business leaders and data and IT teamsAs data needs evolve, guide the team to maintain and update the roadmap accordinglySocializes learnings with business partners and data teams to help guide discussion on new data use casesUses learnings to evolve the data strategy roadmapEnsuring data governance practices are understood and adhered to as a part of the program. Ensures the team understands business problems in the organization and how data can help solve themPartners with technology and business to surface those problems--as well as to discuss and ideate on possible approaches to solve themHelps prioritize data use cases in order to build data capabilities for the programInfluences the prioritization of data use cases in order to achieve an efficient build-out of the data capabilities within the data strategy roadmapAbility to partner with program teams, which are working to deliver data solutionsBe a compelling storyteller to gain support on the strategyUnderstands how to create and deliver presentations to a senior audienceAdeptly socializes ideas and rapidly iterate on feedback to ensure the maximum buy-in and impact of the strategic message Qualifications Strong written and oral communication skills requiredExperience in communicating recommendations to senior business leaders preferredBA/BS, or relevant work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferredMBA or advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative discipline strongly preferred7-10 years of experience working in coding methodologies and design principles, particularly in open source tools and technology About Us
