Director Imaging Services

Job Description Summary:

The Director of Imaging Services is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities of the imaging department. This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of Logan Health. This leader’s major responsibility is directing the day-to-day operations, including strategic planning, budgeting, financial management, and human resource management.

Qualifications: Director of Imaging Services

Minimum of one (1) of the following registrations by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or other RT certifying boards required:

Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT), in magnetic resonance imaging.

Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT), in mammography.

Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT), in computed tomography.

Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT), in nuclear medicine.

Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT), in radiology.

Minimum of five (5) years’ leadership experience required. 

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in one or more radiologic technologist modality required.

Current CPR for designated assigned area(s) required.

Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

Directs and implements clinical outcome measures to improve quality of care, reduce costs and complications, and ensure adherence to evidence-based practices. Monitors safety reporting and conducting of root cause analyses for operational and clinical improvements.  

Supports customer service guidelines by developing patient and family relations, supports the care team in providing exemplary customer service and demonstrating proactive service recovery.

Continually evaluates services to identify problems, while utilizing data to analyze and propose innovative solutions.  Engages staff and stakeholders in ongoing process improvements and manages resources for participation.

Ensures adherence of clinical practices in assigned specialty area(s) according to the regulatory standards and Logan Health policies and procedures.

Maintains up to date policies and procedures in collaboration with radiologists and ensures implementation in assigned area(s). Participates in development and review of policies and procedures and oversees staff training on new procedures.

Monitors unit productivity standards and oversees operational and capital budget development ensuring fiscal responsibility. Responsible for fiscal operation of the department. Provides leadership in materials management to assure availability of equipment and supplies. Provides input on supply use and cost analysis.

Participates in proactive safety and risk management programs to improve structure, process, and outcomes of care. Works with leadership to assess quality, outcomes, metrics, and implements process improvement.  Participates in organizational committees/ task forces as assigned.  Responsible for ensuring standards of care are met.

Conducts focused rounds in assigned area(s), ensures the safety, comfort, and needs of patients and families are sustained in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
