Position Summary

Administrative Director of Imaging Services shall, in conjunction with other department directors and administration, help create an environment that enables QA/HPMC to fulfill its mission and goals. The Administrative Director of Imaging is ultimately responsible for the formulation and implementation, either personally or through delegation, policies and procedures, for the safe, efficient, cost effective and up to date patient care practices.

This director manages the following departments: radiology, CT, ultrasound, Breast Center, Nuclear Medicine, EKG/Cardiology, Transporters, Centralized Scheduling and the radiology Info Systems - Clinical Systems Administrator.

Responsibilities:

Position Accountabilities

Verbalizes and/or demonstrates knowledge of clinical information and practices essential to assuring provision of age-specific care to infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, staff meetings, inservices/workshops and successful completion and maintenance of required certifications of specialty areas.Conveys the Hospital mission and goals to all the members of the Imaging staff.Invokes in staff a sense of ownership of and accountability for their work.Stimulates staff to continuously improve their performance, thereby improving the Hospital’s performance.Integrates the Imaging Services into the hospital’s primary function.Coordinates into a departmental and interdepartmental functions.Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the Imaging Services.Recommends, recruits and staffs the Imaging Services with sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to provide timely and efficient patient care.Determines the qualifications and competence of imaging personnel.Continuously assesses and improves the performance of patient care and Imaging Services.Maintains quality control program.Coordinates and provides in-service training and continuing education of all persons in   the department.Recommend space, equipment and other resources needed by the department.Participates in selection of sources for the needed services not provided by the hospital.Maintains the department in accordance with Title 22, JCAHO, and local, state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an accredited radiology program Baccalaureate degree or equivalent Master’s Degree preferred

Minimum Experience/Skills:

Management experience, preferably five (5) recent years or more in an acute care hospital

Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:

Current State of California License (CRT) Current ARRT Current BLS certificate for Health Care Providers (AHA certified)
