Founded in 1988, Child Development Schools is headquartered in Austin, TX operating over 260 childcare centers in 11 states. Our three early childhood education brands are Childcare Network, Sunrise Preschools, and My Small Wonders. We proudly provide quality care and developmental education to over 30,000 children aged six weeks to twelve years. 

 

We have a great opportunity for a Director-in-Training to join our growing company!

 

The Director in Training will participate in a 3-month program learning to perform highly responsible, confidential and complex duties including, but not limited to, hiring and building a team, budgeting, marketing, bookkeeping/recording procedures, curriculum knowledge and employee relations. Successful completion of the training program may result in permanent placement as School Director, which must be accepted at the time an offer is extended.

Requirements 1-3 years of experience in early childhood education or related fieldCDA, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Early Childhood Education or related fieldAny licenses, certificates or specialized training as required by State law and/or regulatory agencies Ability to foster trust and respect with children and parentsStrong level of patience and understanding of small childrenAbility to communicate, train and educate childrenExcellent customer service skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsProficient time management and multi-tasking skillsAbility to be flexible in work and scheduleStrong management skills

Responsibilities Completion of all Child Development Schools Director training requirements.Recruit, select, train, and orientate staff following Company and state guidelines.Supervise and evaluate all school personnel.Schedule staff and arrange for substitutes in order to meet state ratios.Create a positive working environment through praise, recognition, and morale boosters.Maintain professional rapport with staff and parentsConduct tours for potential families in accordance with the Company’s tour protocol.Implement and continually monitor to ensure an effective marketing strategy for the school.Maintain a physical environment that conforms to licensing standards.Ensure the implementation of our curriculum along with activities, special events, and field trips in order to enhance the learning and development of every child.Perform and/or oversee all administrative tasks including, but not limited to: billing, collection/posting of payments, bank deposits, payroll, school records (including staff and children files), USDA reports, and inquiry system.Monitor and maintain an updated inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to execute your program’s activities. Order food as required by your menu and in accordance with USDA and budgetary guidelines.Meet and maintain all state licensing requirements/qualifications and comply with all Childcare Network policies and Procedures at all times.Maintain flexibility regarding the business demands of the school, including cooking, cleaning, driving the bus, and working in a classroom when needed.
