**Job Summary**
The Director of Indirect Tax will have primary responsibility for all aspects of forecasting, compliance, risk management, research and planning in gross receipts, property, sales, use and other indirect taxes. The Director will deliver value through operational excellence and efficiency, directing processes and technology based solutions. Director will also analyze proposed transactions for unusual tax risks or undetermined tax benefits, determine tax-optimization, and assess the tax consequences of specific transactions. Responsibilities include supervising and developing staff, issue identification and analysis, staying current on tax matters, partnering within and outside the tax department, and interacting with outside auditors. This position requires a self-motivated team player with GAAP and Tax technical experience, leadership and organization skills, effective communication, a history of producing high-quality, timely work product, flexibility, and intellectual curiosity. The Director must strive for continuous improvement in process, deliverables, leadership and professional expertise. This position will include the following key responsibilities
**Essential Functions**
+ Lead a team of tax professionals to ensure accurate, timely filing of gross receipts, property, sales, use and other indirect tax returns and payments
+ Oversee tax forecast, tax determination, tax risk management, tax account reconciliations, tax reserves, SOX controls and all computational and reporting aspects of ASC 450
+ Direct research and tax planning and respond to requests and inquiries from operating groups, including the impact of strategic business changes, and tax-related legislative developments on indirect taxes
+ Coordinate with internal and external counsel regarding any indirect tax controversy and direct all litigation related to property valuation appeals
+ Oversee tax-related regulatory reporting requirements and provide tax assistance with regulatory initiatives including utility rate case support
+ Oversee the development of process documentation and support ongoing process transformation while adhering to controls and policies
+ Leverage technology to create effective efficiency and design dashboards and analytics to manage processes
+ Oversee the evolution of tax technology tools and support technology enhancements
**Required Qualifications For Position**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
+ Minimum of 12 years public accounting experience or corporate tax experience
+ Experience supervising teams to build an atmosphere of trust; providing technical training and mentorship to other team members; coaching staff including providing timely and meaningful feedback to ensure team effectiveness
+ Comprehensive technical skills in general accounting principles, ASC 450, property valuation models, and sampling methods
+ Tax compliance software experience, preferably One Source Indirect Tax Determination (Sabrix) and ERP (Oracle or SAP) systems
+ Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
+ Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong tax research skills
+ Organized and attentive to detail
+ Works well independently and in a team environment
**Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position**
+ Master's Degree Master’s degree in Accounting / Business, Tax or a related discipline
+ Certified Public Accountant
+ Exposure to Alteryx, Tableau, UI Path, Visual Basic or other tools in Tax
+ Utility industry experience helpful, but not required

$155,400.00 - $233,100.00
