The Opportunity: 
 We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, Inside Sales to lead and develop our inside sales team. 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales strategy, talent incubation, and team management. 

This role will be pivotal in driving revenue growth, enhancing sales processes, and fostering a culture of excellence within the sales team.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: 

Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: Formulate and execute effective sales strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets. Analyze market trends and adjust strategies to capture new opportunities.Lead and Direct the Inside Sales Team Managers: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the inside sales team. Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and establish a culture of high performance and accountability.Talent Incubation: Identify and nurture high-potential sales talent slated for future field sales in collaboration with each area’s leaders. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members, ensuring continuous growth and development.Monitor and Analyze Sales Metrics: Track and analyze key sales metrics to measure performance and identify areas for improvement. Utilize data-driven insights to optimize sales processes and drive efficiencies.Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with operations and area commercial leaders’ teams to align sales strategies with overall business goals. Foster strong relationships and effective communication across departments.Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.Sales Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and manage the sales budget effectively. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance and achievements.

 

What you need to succeed: 

Proven Experience: Minimum of seven years of experience in sales management, with a proven track record of success in leading inside sales teams and achieving revenue targets.Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that align with business objectives. Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.Leadership and Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and inspire a sales team. Experience in talent incubation and developing high-potential team members for next generation field reps.Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels.Customer-Focused: Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building long-term relationships with clients.Data-Driven: Proficiency in using CRM software and sales analytics tools to track performance and make data-driven decisions.Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience requiredTravel: Up to 40%
