PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $188,700.00-$230,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $146,900.00 - $272,700.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As the Director of Investment Services Sales at BECU, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving growth, innovation, and compliance across our Investment Services division. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a dynamic team of Financial Advisors and operations support staff, ensuring their success and aligning them with BECU’s strategic goals. Your ability to foster seamless integration between our services and ensure regulatory compliance will help us deliver a world-class experience to our members. The impact you make here will shape the future of our Investment Services, contribute to a thriving business unit, and elevate the financial wellbeing of our members.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Ensure Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain a deep understanding of state and federal regulations and ensure the Investment Services team stays in full compliance with industry rules and regulations, including FINRA/SEC standards.

Lead Operational Excellence: Work alongside our Operations function to make sure that all team members follow operational and regulatory policies while ensuring smooth workflows and seamless service delivery.

Collaborate for Success: Partner with the Branch Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) to ensure the compliance and suitability of trades, while coordinating member and public communications related to investments.

Drive Sales Performance: Guide the Financial Advisors and Associate Financial Advisors to ensure that they provide timely, accurate, and effective services, while setting departmental and individual goals aligned with the overall operational plan.

Resolve Member Concerns: Act as an escalation point for members or clients who have concerns or complaints that haven’t been properly resolved, ensuring they receive timely and satisfactory solutions.

Strengthen Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships across departments to ensure the flow of referrals and maximize compliance with regulatory and supervision policies.

Recruit and Build Talent: Work with BECU recruiting services to attract, select, and onboard new Financial Advisors, ensuring we continue to develop a high-performing and knowledgeable team.

Optimize Budgeting and Resources: Manage the Investment Sales function’s expense budget, making cost-effective decisions that balance the needs of the team and the financial goals of BECU. Partner with the VP Investment Services to make strategic financial decisions.

Innovate with New Products and Services: Research, develop, and launch new products or service opportunities, ensuring alignment with the needs of our members and the financial goals of the business unit.

Provide Ongoing Coaching and Mentoring: Support the ongoing development of your team by coaching, mentoring, and providing timely performance evaluations. Help them grow in their roles and achieve their professional goals.

Maximize Financial Performance: Collaborate with leadership on the development of annual operating plans, budgets, and forecasts. Monitor financial performance, analyze production results, and lead business review meetings to ensure alignment with financial objectives.

Maintain Expertise in Regulations and Procedures: Stay current with all applicable investment and insurance regulations, ensuring the team adheres to operational, sales, and regulatory policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent. 

Typically requires eight years of investment services, wealth management, or financial services experience.

Typically requires five years of people management experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Series 7, 24, 63, 65 and insurance licensing.

Advanced wealth management compliance and trading experience.

Excellent project management skills.

Ability to read, understand and interpret any impact of new regulations as well as changes to existing regulations and implement necessary procedures to ensure compliance.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.

Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure personnel and member related issues are handled in a fair, consistent manner.

Effective leadership and negotiation skills.
