GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director – National Sales (Labor Unions) will be responsible for developing and executing against a national labor strategy with a focus on accelerating growth in this segment. The Director will develop a pipeline of large labor organizations and will consult on their respective vision benefit programs. The Director will serve as an internal consultant for our Field Sales and Account Management organization on all labor opportunities to ensure the strategy is being executed as designed. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops national labor sales strategy to meet plan objectives Continuously develops opportunities on target list to meet/exceed sales goal Conducts strategic benefit discussions with labor organization’s benefit leadership Cultivates and manages consultant relationships who are focused on labor union business Works internally across sales and account management to identify and capitalize on opportunities in the labor union segment Mentors/coaches colleagues as subject matter expert on labor union segment Serves as a thought leader within the sales organization and externally to consultants and labor union leadership Works effectively with internal departments (product, finance, network, marketing & operations) to ensure success of labor union strategy Develops and leads the sales process on targeted accounts Identifies and attends conferences that will help develop labor union relationships and prospecting Provides input into and executes marketing plan to engage prospects Confidently leads internal team to develop external presentations to consultants and labor organizations Effectively negotiates contracts on behalf of the organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years overall sales experience with demonstrated success in labor segment Previous benefits sales experience Business to business sales experience Strong goal-driven performer with consistent achievement of sales goals Strong presentation skills and executive presence Creative, outgoing leader Experience in building and negotiating contract terms Proven track record building sales and financial targets Proficient in MS Office Suite of products Ability to travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s Degree Sales leadership experience Demonstrated success in project management or liaison role Experience leading large group sales

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
