GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the management and oversight of the clinical operations of the laboratory including budgeting, supply chain management, quality/accreditation, management of human resources and strategic planning.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops and manages financial and supply chain operations for laboratory cost centers within the site location. Coordinates the development of departmental budgets, monitors performance and assures appropriate interventions to achieve financial goals and objectives. (35%)Provides leadership to staff to ensure quality patient care by utilizing the performance improvement model to correct quality issues. Ensures that compliance standards are met according to governmental and accreditation standards. (25%)Facilitates a positive working environment that enables employees to perform work-related duties that meet the department and System goals. (15%)Leads a culture of continuous education and learning for staying current on the latest technology, improving job satisfaction, and providing better laboratory services to our customers. (20%)Ensures curriculum is followed in teaching skills to all students and new employees and completes all necessary evaluation forms. (5%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

Bachelor’s degree in ASCP eligible program.MLT ASCP, MT ASCP or equivalentMeet ongoing education requirements for certification.5 years of clinical laboratory management experience.

Preferred

Master’s degree in business, hospital administration or related field.
