Responsible for supervising the global logistics organization including all warehousing, transportation, and logistics activities. Define the global, regional, & local strategy for logistics, aligned with Global Supply Chain Management and all segments of O’Reilly. The focus will be on distribution centers, domestic distribution, transport customs, international freight, including trade compliance and supply chain integrity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Direct management of all department directors and managers including recruiting, goal setting, evaluation, mentoring, and discipline.
Manage logistics support for global operations and distribution centers in partnership with our carriers and 3PL partners.
Provide strong leadership and specific direction to the global Operations team in the execution of top-level strategies, improvement priorities, and the predictable delivery of other KPIs.
Build and coach the logistics team creating strong internal development pathways and a culture that enables top talent to excel.
Continually improving upon the utilization of standard operating procedures and metrics to achieve business results and to drive all aspects of transportation across the enterprise, including but not limited to: dedicated carrier operational standardization and optimization, fleet and 3rd party carrier utilization for the nationwide inbound programs and excellent customer service.
Oversee all functional operations, including but not limited to international logistics, inbound logistics, reverse logistics, LTL consolidation, and carrier relations.
Lead the monthly DC and Logistic business reviews ensuring accountability to deliver on our financial and transportation commitments.
Utilize technology to drive costs out of the supply chain and develop strategies to lower overall landed costs for the company,
Work with team on report development as needed.
Salary budgeting and recommendations for the entire team.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Visit and observe DC operations and store operations on periodic visits.
Visit supplier locations as needed to improve supply chain efficiency.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required: BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering or related field.
10+ years of relevant global operations management experience is the areas of supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics leading complex global teams.
10+ years of managing global 3PL’s with a strong focus on effective contracts, KPI’s, and continuous improvement partnerships
Ability to work with multiple departments and suppliers while conveying a professional, positive image of self and O’Reilly.
5+ years of prior leadership experience in a professional setting.
Outstanding interpersonal abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, plus analytical and keen problem-solving capabilities.
Self-motivated and able to multi-task, coordinate, and prioritize concurrent tasks.
Ability to function in a high-pressure, fast paced environment.
Ability to present complex information in an organized, understandable, and compelling manner.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Desired: 5+ years of experience in supply chain, transportation, and logistics.
Broad global expertise in effective logistics solutions across all modes to support critical manufacturing timelines
Budgeting experience.
