General Description:
The Director Medical Affairs Solid Tumors, Medical Affairs, EU is the internal key expert within the indication area(s), directly supporting the respective products through development, pre-marketing, launch, marketing support and lifecycle management. This includes all areas of medical affairs activities such as support of safe and appropriate product use, data-generation, data-dissemination and HCP interactions. Subject matter expertise is essential.
The role is part of a matrix organization, reporting to the Executive Director Medical Affairs Europe, but with collaboration with the European Medical Affairs group, other Regional/Country Medical Directors and regional medical affairs functions as well as Global Medical Affairs and Global Clinical Development Functions. It requires close interaction with local (country) medical directors with respect to allocated disease area(s) (currently ideally GI and lung cancers, but this may evolve) to assure strategic dialogue considering local specifics and input as well as regional guidance.
The Director Medical Affairs Solid Tumors has accountability for the regional input into the product and indication strategies and works closely with local country medical directors to assure alignment across global, regional and local strategies, messaging as well as tactical implementation.
The role includes, but is not limited to:
Matrix leadership in the disease areaProactive contribution to regional and global brand and disease area strategiesIncluding gap analysesIdentification of areas of interest with respect to ISRPublication planningRegional data-dissemination (e.g. company sponsored symposia, congress submissions, medical education activities)Regional HCP interactions / outreach (e.g. investigator meetings, advisory boards)Close collaboration with regional commercial teams regarding pre-launch, launch and commercialization support, assuring timely medical input and accuracy of medical / scientific contentAs a subject matter expert for the assigned disease area, the incumbent will be accountable to develop regional strategies to support enduring and compliant relationships with Opinion Leaders, Research Collaborators, and Key Organizations in support of BeiGene’s pipeline development across the allocated disease area.

Essential Functions of the job:
Establish and maintain scientifically credible peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key national & regional opinion leaders in addition to other healthcare providersViewed as a Scientific Partner by KOLsFacilitate & monitor strategic partnerships with scientific/clinical experts and serve as a regional-level point of contact with organizations including but not limited to -Guideline developmentCooperative groupsOther (Regional / National Cancer institutions)Facilitate & monitor strategic partnerships with other functional areas within BeiGeneLeadership in the development and execution of clinically relevant regional medical meetings (e.g., advisory boards, consultant, and investigator meetings), as requestedDevelop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives.Support disease area Medical Affairs budget planning and management.Be accountable for compliant business practices.Qualifications & Experience:
MD, or scientific degree with relevant clinical / scientific experience in the indication fieldMinimum 5 - 10 years of experience and success within other biotech/pharmaceutical companies, incl. a minimum of 3 years of work on international level.Track record of experience (clinical and industry) in the field of OncologyHigh level of communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational, and cross functional collaboration skills.Flexibility to work with colleagues in a global setting.Fluent in English (written and spoken)Other European languages are an advantageAble to engage in work-related travelComputer Skills:
