**Director Medical Affairs US Radiology (Breast)**
The Director Medical Affairs US Radiology (Breast) is a medical doctor responsible for providing medical guidance and category knowledge to US Medical Strategy, Marketing, New Development, US Regulatory Affairs, Communications, Legal and Global Medical Affairs for the assigned disease chapters.
This role will be responsible for developing and implementing US medical strategies, provide medical and category expertise for identification of new development plans while working closely with Global Medical Affairs, R&D, and marketing. Included may be the occasional participation in due diligences important to the US market.
This position is site based, working out of our Whippany, NJ US Pharma Headquarters.
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The primary responsibilities of this role, Director Medical Affairs US Radiology (Breast), are to:
+ The incumbent is responsible for supporting US business growth and business protection across the assigned radiology product portfolio;
+ The incumbent is responsible for contributing US medical assessment on new products in development and/or being considered for in-licensing/acquisition;
+ Responsible for Medical strategic plan and activation plan for assigned brands and therapeutic areas;
+ The Director Medical Affairs US Radiology develops and maintains strong relations with thought leaders by demonstrating strong scientific rigor and leadership presence in the radiology category;
+ The incumbent will provide support for new product launches including development of materials needed for sales training, Advisory Boards, Investigator Sponsored Trials and other medical activities;
+ S/He will provide support in the development of materials and their review;
+ S/He will contribute to review of US product related communications and press releases;
+ S/He will contribute to post approval regulatory required trials by the FDA. This position will contribute to as well as participate in FDA activities such as documents and meetings for their category;
+ The Director Medical Affairs US Radiology will participate in initiatives that focus on improved processes, tools, outcomes with the goal of making Bayer efficient yet compliant;
+ The scope of the disease chapters may vary based on operational and strategy need within Radiology.
**WHO YOU ARE**
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
**Required Qualifications** :
+ A degree of Medical Doctor (e.g., MD, DO) is required;
+ Experience working in Breast Imaging or Breast Cancer is required;
+ Experience in clinical research and development or medical affairs or related businesses (exception - Medical Experience may also be recognized as equivalent experience);
+ Incumbent must have demonstrated originality in problem solving as applied to drug development and have skills and experience in dealing with government officials in the US and abroad;
+ Ability to interact with and influence people at all levels within Bayer;
+ Thorough knowledge of scientific information with the ability to interpret and assimilate scientific data;
+ Good understanding of the key pre-clinical and clinical trial design elements, including statistical considerations, operations and interpretation of these activities as well as regulatory requirements;
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to lead, network and function in diverse teams, are necessary to present critical medical and scientific information to internal departments, and to positively interact with external customers, medical thought leaders, and academic and managed care communities;
+ Must have the ability to travel as needed, up to 20%, both domestic and international.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Board-certified specialist, preferred;
+ Pharmaceutical, Radiology, or Medical Device Industry experience preferred;
+ 5+ years of relevant experience;
+ A thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures in drug testing is desirable.
