Director is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of multiple physician medical practices within the Health System. The role focuses on ensuring efficient operations, financial performance, and optimal patient experience.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibility for planning, organizing, delegating, and coordinating the day-to-day operations of all assigned practices.Directs practice operations to assure financial viability through service quality and clinical excellence. Responsible for financial and operating performance of assigned practices including development of financial goals, operating budgets, capital expenditure planning. Utilizes sound management principles in daily practice operations. Implements key performance indicators and statistics to assess operations. Work closely with physicians, other providers and Health System Administration to establish and meet short and long term strategic goals to optimize market positioning and growth opportunities for assigned practices.Responsible for project management when implementing new medical practices under direction including develop of business pro forma, identification of capital needs, service contracts, staff recruitment, computer systems implementation, and workflow development. Developing organizational structure and staffing plans to meet changing forecasted business needs.Supervises and advises the Office Managers and staff of assigned practices on appropriate processes to maintain an effective operating environment, assuring efficient and safe operations of all services.Ensures that each practice follows Health System and practice-specific policies and procedures, and local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations.Implements processes necessary to meet requirements of payor quality programs including MACRA/MIPS within assigned practices.Manages physician employment contracts including productivity and quality incentive reporting.Ensure appropriate billing and compliance. Works with billing department, providers and staff to provide education and training on coding and billing compliance with federal and state regulations. Cultivates a relationship of mutual respect and trust with providers and staff.Meets regularly with physicians, managers, and office staff to discuss operational efficiency.Participates in the process of interviewing, hiring, appraising, handling corrective actions, addressing complaints and resolving problems of managers and staff.Serves as the primary liaison between physicians and Health System administrationEnsures orientation and training for employees, including other management positionsManages departmental productivity standardsApproves payroll and is responsible for accurate payment of employees, including other management positions

QualificationsBachelor’s or Associates degree in business or health care related field required Master’s degree in Business Management or Health Administration- preferredCertification in Medical Practice Management- preferred5 years’ experience in health administration or health care related field3 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory roleGood interpersonal skills in dealing with peopleMust be able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend EnglishWORKING CONDITIONS
Physical presence onsite at multiple locations is essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Very good interpersonal communication and customer service skills required.
Light work – exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. Good manual and finger dexterity. Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting.
