Job Description

AECOM is seeking an industry connected Mine Waste Closure and Remediation Director to support the West Pacific Water Mining Division growth opportunities in Mine Waste Closure, Remediation and Sustainability who will collaborate with AECOM national and global mining accounts and delivery teams.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

Provides engineering technical and management leadership for Mine Waste Closure, Remediation and Sustainability projects. This will include evaluating AECOM’s current market position (for services mentioned) and working with leadership on market facing approaches.Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with senior engineers and leaders within the company and with key engineering officials of outside organizations and companies, and is skilled in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues.Provides creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual engineering problemsDetermines program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.Plans, organizes and implements business development activities for targeted growth markets and accounts while working with business line leaders to pursue development of clients and marketsDevelop project proposals and work with mining business leaders to support and grow Mining practiceWork with existing and potential clients to provide long-term strategic solutions for mine infrastructureStay abreast and participate in industry leading technical and regulatory forums and select sector trade organizations.Participate in AECOM’s Mine Services Technical Practice Network (TPN)

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education4 years of leadership experienceValid U.S. Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

15+ years or more of relevant experience8 years of leadership experienceStrong industry connections in mine waste (tailings, leach and stockpile) and mine infrastructure, closure and remediationDemonstrated progressive experience in mining industryAbility to serve as primary point of contact with the client and develop client relationshipsMust be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people
