Director-Nursing Professional Development, Nursing Practice

The Director – Nursing Professional Development, Nursing Practice is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of a program creating nursing education scholars advancing the science of nursing and patient education. The Director serves as a liaison with schools of nursing and creates the environment where the organization nurses support academic practicum experiences and serve as preceptors, instructors, adjunct faculty, or faculty (ANCC, 2008). This leader oversees professional placement, training, and evaluation of assignments for employees and students. The Director – Nursing Professional Development is responsible for creating a system wide evidence-based patient education experience reflecting health literacy literature and evidence-based practice.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be selected from a diverse pool and will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

Masters of Nursing or related field is required. DNP or PhD preferred.  Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies. Requires completion Clinical Specialty Professional Certification within 1 year upon meeting eligibility requirements. Requires 7-10 years of relevant experience.
