If so, let's start the conversation. **REMOTE** This position leads the Financial Controllership & Accounting group for the North America, Europe and APAC Data Center Business Unit (“Data Center BU”). The primary purpose of the role is to ensure accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting and that all local and US GAAP requirements are met. They partner with the Company’s outsourced finance partner (TCS), guaranteeing the quality and effectiveness of accounting practices, with a focus on continuous improvement in R2A and P2P. This role will support establishing the strategic direction, vision and organizational model for the retained accounting organization structure and will drive transformational changes and create a team that drives continuous improvement to deliver world class accounting and reporting processes, policies and procedures, as well as future business acquisition, joint ventures and geographic expansion. Additionally, drive appropriate internal controls for this business unit working with internal audit and the commercial, operational and functional groups. Key Accountabilities What are the main role responsibilities against which performance is measured? Indicate if the role is within or across business entities and geographies. ● Ensure all financial, statutory and reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly and yearly) are delivered in a timely and accurate manner, and within US reporting timeline including Local GAAP and US GAAP adjustments as well as joint venture requirements; ● Provide key financial data, trends and analysis to the leadership team and global Iron Mountain finance team ● Management of the balance sheet, ensuring that it reflects the true representation of assets and liabilities. Ensure accurate accruals are maintained and reviewed. ● Provide leadership around process improvement, regulatory and statutory returns, tax compliance and tax efficiency for the Region’s business working with the Global tax group (in relation to income taxes and indirect tax). ● Preparation of Statutory Accounts for all entities (inclusive of joint ventures) for the Data Center BU across the NA region and support of others outside of the NA region. Target is for all to be completed in advance of statutory or other business needs. ● Oversee / manage the coordination of external and internal audit programs and requirements including budget with External auditors. Support Global External Reporting and Controllership team for US GAAP audit purposes. ● Collaborating with and supporting the Data Center Finance Business Partner to ensure ongoing risk-based monitoring, design, and implementation of effective internal controls. Responsible for review of country certification of SOX and SOX-Lite controls. ● Accountable for ensuring compliance with Iron Mountain group accounting policies, US GAAP and SOX; actively participate in the design, update and training of the Global Accounting policies for any items that need to be considered for Data Center. ● Collaborating with COE, documenting in accounting memos significant or complex revenue or other contract arrangements as it related to the Data Center and joint ventures. ● Ensure finance systems optimization and continuous improvement. Proactively contribute to the development and implementation of the Finance Systems strategy within the framework of the Iron Mountain global financial systems strategy. ● Partner with the Data Center Finance Business Partner to drive strategy and execution and linkage and accountability back to the commercial, operational and functional global groups. Perform risk analysis, review, and provide recommendations for business process changes necessary to address risks of financial misstatement. Working with management, operations and accounting teams on implementing the changes. ● Provide support to investigate and resolve accounting issues including the escalations of issues on the Quarterly Issues Meeting (QIM) and Disclosure protocols. ● Implement and lead regular balance sheet reviews for all countries (regularity of review dependent on importance of country and size of previous accounting issues). Closely partner with the Accounting Center of Excellence group on this front. Accounting support of M&A activities, due diligence and post-acquisition integration projects relating to financial reporting aspects, lead the set-up of reporting for newly acquired entities and joint ventures. ● Drive and support the effective operation of accounting shared services. Identify any issues and manage resolution. Provide support in any additional transition to the outsourcing companies, or system implementation ● Monitoring Procure-to-Pay (“P2P”) activities, perform root cause analysis, run continuous improvement projects (working with Finance Shared Service Center P2P Lead and the Global Accounting COE)) ● Revenue recognition: monitoring for risk around significant new or complex arrangements, work closely working with the Revenue Assurance assurance and billing theme and the Revenue Accounting COE group. ● Support real estate construction and leases, monitor significant or complex transactions and work closely the Data Center Construction team, Business Partner Group and the Data Center Commercial and Operational teams (in partnership with Accounting COE group). ● Continuous review of moth end close and reporting processes for improvement. Support changes in corporate requirements and implementation of New accounting standard working with the Global External Reporting Controllership team and Accounting COE group. ● Ad hoc financial, operational and end-to-end process improvement projects as agreed with the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer (revenue cycle; procurement cycle – opex and capex; payroll and benefits; real estate and construction; income tax/indirect tax; treasury and joint ventures, among others. ● Build and maintain collaborative relationships with business and finance stakeholders locally and at the corporate level including external stakeholders. ● Effectively partner and communicate with the FP&A and Finance Business Partner roles in order to drive two-way communication between Global and Regional Controllership team and these finance functions in order to drive greater understanding of the accounting impacts of business decisions and provide more effective proactive advice to the business and these Finance groups, as well as, provide more early warning of potential, planned or future transactions and/or events that may have an impact on our financial reporting. Joint management of the balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, leverage and disclosures. ● Manage a team geographically distributed across the different market and countries for all aspects of their performance management ● Coach and develop direct and indirect teams to drive team dynamics, succession planning and personal team member professional development and advancement. ● Lead and direct an internal team of finance professionals, including Regional Controller, North America Accounting Supervisor, Joint Venture Controller, P2P Manager each of whom will be responsible for driving some facet of the various key responsibilities noted above. \#LI-Remote Category: Finance Iron Mountain is a global leader in storage and information management services trusted by more than 225,000 organizations in 60 countries.
