GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of Inventory Accounting leads the inventory accounting team responsible for the North America Professional Solutions business (US200) of EssilorLuxottica. This role is tasked with implementing and maintaining strong accounting and system controls to ensure the accurate reporting of inventory balances and transactions. The ideal candidate will train and develop team members, foster a positive team culture, and drive continuous improvements within the department. Additionally, this role will collaborate closely with business partners and key stakeholders to align goals and strategies.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Compliance: Ensure financial transactions are reported accurately and consistently in accordance with IFRS and company policies. Ensures a strong internal control environment is maintained. Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders including operations (stores, distribution centers, labs), finance/accounting, shared services, and corporate offices in France, Italy and New York to address business issues. Process Improvement: Continuously enhance accounting processes, systems, and internal controls. Talent Development: Train and develop associates to meet organizational needs and expand their responsibilities. Communication: Communicate risks, opportunities, and status updates to management and stakeholders effectively. Audit Management: Manage external audits to ensure timely completion and resolution of any identified issues. Reporting: Develop financial reports and schedules as requested. Strategic and Systems Projects: Execute integration and other strategic projects, as well as system initiatives and transformations related to inventory accounting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. 10+ years of accounting experience. Experience working in ERP systems e.g. Oracle, SAP, Hyperion HFM, Essbase, etc. High technical competency in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of accounting department operations, business operations, and the impact of activities on associates and leadership. Strong working knowledge of IFRS, including the ability to research complex issues and formulate technically sound conclusions. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate both upward and downward. Initiative, assertiveness, creativity, results-oriented mindset, effective time management, decision making, and delegation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MBA degree is preferred. CPA certification is preferred. Experience in Public Accounting.is strongly preferred.
