Director of Accounts Payable
Description Job Summary: The Director of Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable department and ensuring accurate and timely processing of all vendor invoices and payments. This role involves leading a team, implementing best practices, optimizing processes, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. The Director will also ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, as well as contribute to strategic financial planning. Key Responsibilities: + Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounts payable team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. + Process Optimization: Review and enhance accounts payable processes to improve efficiency and accuracy, leveraging technology and automation where applicable. + Financial Oversight: Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payment approvals, and reconciliations. + Vendor Management: Maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing any issues related to payments or inquiries. + Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations related to accounts payable. + Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on accounts payable metrics, cash flow forecasts, and departmental performance to senior management. + Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to align accounts payable functions with overall business objectives. + Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide ongoing development opportunities for the accounts payable team. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred. + 7+ years of experience in accounts payable or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. + Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with automation tools is a plus. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
