Director of Administration for Protective Operations and Clinical Support

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking a positive, effective professional to fill the role of*Director of Administration for Protective Operations and Clinical Support*. The selected candidate will report to the Deputy Commissioner for Protective Operations and support the needs of the Deputy Commissioner for Clinical Services and Support. The Director of Administration for Protective Operations and Clinical Support will oversee and direct all administrative activities within those two divisions. The role also supports the regional and area offices by participating in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities, reviewing and producing caseload management data reports, and assisting regions in managing their services and administrative budgets. The Director represents the Deputy Commissioners for in various liaison roles both internal and external to the DCF. *_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)_*: * Develops strategies, objectives, and systems to oversee the management of the Divisions’ budgets Review and approve provider invoices for payment * Oversee the Department’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the Department’s Alternative Work Options Program (AWOP) * Coordinate the development of procurements that fall under the purview of protective operations * Provide support to the field by participating in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities * Assist regional and area management teams to manage their services and administrative budgets * Represents the Deputy Commissioner for Protective Operations in various liaison roles * Support other Deputy Commissioners in various administrative activities. * Directly supervise Program Coordinator I Staff * Other duties as assigned *_Preferred Qualifications_*: * Knowledge of public child welfare system * Knowledge of service delivery and program development * Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement processes * Knowledge of procurement policies, procedures, and contract management * Knowledge of budget management and ability to allocate resources according to need * Ability to formulate and interpret agency objectives, policies, and procedures * Ability to demonstrate leadership * Skill in managing complex systems * Skill in evaluating programs * Ability to work independently and collaboratively * Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook and other PC based software. *_TO APPLY_**:* Please upload both Resume and Cover Letter for this position when applying. *_About the Department of Children and Families/:/_* The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is committed to upholding the fundamental mission of protecting children from abuse and neglect to ensure they are able to grow and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) six (6) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least two (2) years must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience. II. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines.
