Director of Admissions
The Director of Admissions for Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) plays a critical role in overseeing the admissions process across multiple facilities within the organization. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, enhances resident census growth, and aligns admissions practices with organizational goals. The Director will act as a liaison between potential residents, families, referral sources, and facility teams to facilitate a seamless admissions process, maintain high occupancy levels, and support the strategic growth of the organization. Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement corporate-wide admissions policies and procedures that align with business objectives and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with executive leadership to create admission strategies that maximize census growth across all facilities. Act as a liaison between hospitals and SNF’s within the organization, ensuring best practices are followed. Admissions Process Management: Oversee the entire admissions process, from initial inquiry to patient transfer, across multiple skilled nursing facilities. Work closely with clinical teams to assess new residents for appropriateness of care and ensure smooth transitions into the facility. Ensure department accurately completes all pre-admission paperwork, financial documents, and compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance requirements. Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, family members, and facilities within the organization. Represent the company at public events, promoting services and building partnerships that lead to resident admissions. Handle any concerns from families or residents throughout the pre-admissions process, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all admissions follow federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines. Ensures proper documentation is maintained for all resident admissions, keeping clear and accurate records of all processes. Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with admission policies and recommend improvements. Team Leadership and Training: Supervises, trains, and mentors admissions department personnel to ensure they meet organizational standards and objectives. Provide ongoing education on the latest admission best practices, compliance regulations, and effective communication with prospective residents and their families. Census Growth: Drive census-building initiatives, including outreach to referral sources such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and physicians. Monitor and analyze admission trends, reporting key metrics to the Ebenezer leadership team to adjust strategies as needed. Consults with marketing on the development of marketing plans aimed at attracting potential residents and referral partners. Performs other duties as assigned and directed. Required: Associate Degree Licensed by the State of Minnesota Board of Social Work or Board of Nursing as RN or LPN Two years’ experience in LTC in Social Work or RN in Nursing Supervisory, management and administration skills Experience in LTC Admissions Other License/Certification/Registration: Drivers License (in good standing) Preferred: Bachelor's Degree 3+ years experience
