The University at Albany is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Director of Admissions Recruitment to spearhead our undergraduate recruitment efforts. This role is vital in enhancing the university's outreach to a diverse range of prospective students and executing strategic initiatives that drive enrollment growth. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in undergraduate recruitment, a passion for working with diverse populations including high school, transfer, and adult learners, and preferred experience with Slate CRM. Working well with people and flexibility in a rapidly adapting environment is essential for this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Strategic Recruitment Planning and Implementation
+ Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract and enroll incoming students in alignment with university enrollment goals.
+ Promote and implement strategies that support first-generation students and students from a wide range of socio-economic groups.
+ Collaborate with offices specializing in academic and student support to create tailored recruitment strategies.
+ Outreach and Engagement
+ Conduct outreach activities, including high school visits, college fairs, and community events, to engage with prospective students and their families.
+ Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other stakeholders to foster partnerships that enhance recruitment efforts.
+ Travel extensively to promote the university, attend recruitment events, and represent the institution at national and regional conferences.
+ Team Leadership and Staff Development
+ Supervise the admissions recruitment team, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to enhance team effectiveness.
+ Foster an environment of collaboration and innovation within the recruitment team.
+ Data Management and Reporting
+ Utilize Slate CRM and other data management tools to track recruitment activities, analyze application trends, and assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
+ Prepare reports and presentations for university leadership highlighting recruitment progress and challenges.
+ Event Planning and Coordination
+ Plan and oversee recruitment events, including open houses, campus tours, and information sessions, ensuring that each event effectively showcases the university's offerings.
+ Coordinate logistical aspects of travel for recruitment events, ensuring compliance with university policies.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
This position reports to the Associate Vice President and Chief Enrollment Officer and works cross-functionally with the Director of Admissions Systems and the Director of Admissions Marketing. They will supervise the Associate and Assistant Directors within the undergraduate domestic recruitment and welcome experience teams.
Job Requirements:
+ Flexibility in scheduling and a willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary to meet recruitment goals.
+ Strong analytical skills to evaluate current admission market trends to guide recruitment strategies and admissions planning
+ Strong understanding of enrollment management practices, trends in higher education, and the needs of diverse student populations.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
+ Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently manage multiple projects.
+ Ability to travel independently up to 25%
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited higher education institution
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in undergraduate recruitment, with a demonstrated ability to engage a broad range of students and communities.
+ Minimum of 3 years of successful management/supervision experience and demonstrated leadership abilities.
+ Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community
+ Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degree from an accredited higher education institution.
+ Experience with Slate CRM or similar systems is highly desirable.

Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Director of Admissions, SL-5, $110,000-$120,000
