Director of Advanced Packaging & Customs Product Line
Mercury Systems’ seeks an Advanced Packaging and Customs Director to provide both business and technical leadership for its mircro electronics business. The Advanced Packaging and Customs Director role is a senior leadership position with high visibility up to the Executive Leadership Team. The Director will drive execution and innovation while being responsible for meeting financial objectives, executing development activities, driving program execution, and expanding the business. This role is focused on the development and contractual execution of all advanced packaging, system in package, and custom work. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with functional organizations that support a matrixed team environment. With direct reports comprised of both program and product management, the Director will lead efforts for the DMM LoB. Close partnership with direct reports, the integrated product team, and the functional organization to advance performance across the portfolio is highly regarded.  Job Responsibility: * Responsibility for and ownership of the program lifecycle --- from the front end of the business, through development and into production. P&L responsibility, financial management, cost and schedule achievement, and product line growth. * Responsible to grow the product line through expansion of existing business and through product development targeted at key growth markets.  Experience in new product introduction is critical, as is demonstrated experience in program management. * Drive a high performing execution team focused on delivering to commitments – both development and production. * Coaching, mentoring, and leading a team of direct reports consisting of product and program managers, as well a broader team of indirect reports functioning in a matrix work environment. * Collaborate cross functionally in a matrix org --- with engineering, production, finance, human resources, contracts, quality, and customers on defining, developing, and maturing technology roadmaps to create viable new product introductions in memory, storage, and space. The candidate should possess an innate ability to balance both strategic thinking and driving day-to-day tactical actions. * Work with Sales and Capture Leads to scope and bound new pursuits. Understand the business needs and market requirements. Create and coordinate Work Breakdown Structure, Integrated Master Schedule, and contract budget baseline and program financials Identify out of scope activities and, with appropriate review by management, make recommendations and commitments to the customer. Negotiate additional charges, funding, and/or timeline impacts.  * Proven experience with customer relationship management. Exemplary interpersonal skills and achieving win/win outcomes. Location: This role is based in the Phoenix, AZ office. Required Qualification: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 12+ years of relevant Program/Project Management experience with a focus on development or production of aerospace. defense, or space. * Experience managing IMS, EAC and scope with the full program lifecycle --- from the front end of the business, through development and into production to completion. * Experience growing the product line through expansion of existing business and through product development targeted at key growth markets.  * Experience leading direct and indirect reports in a matrixed environment. * Experience with turnaround planning and execution. * Experienced at operating his/her product line as a business --- total ownership of the product line across all facets of the product development and program execution lifecycle. Preferred Qualifications: *  An ability to make business and technical trades and provide specific recommendations to senior management, partners, and the customer's business leaders. * Ability to convey information and ideas, including strong executive presence, communication, and presentation skills. * Strategic thinker with capacity to manage business complexity and to identify and focus on top priorities.
