Overview The Director of Analysis, Innovation Strategy guides analysis of American private, public, and IQT early- stage investment in critical areas of technology. Reporting to the EVP for National Innovation Strategy, the Director will lead and participate in research efforts, the creation of analyses, and strategies for ongoing IQT communication with key public and private sector actors to inform the alignment of national public and private capital to promote U.S. global innovation leadership. The Director will lead a small team and work with individuals across the organization to discern where U.S.-based early-stage capital is flowing, which targeted technologies require additional investment, and track the success of IQT’s efforts to catalyze investment to address those gaps. This analysis will include and help guide the development of IQT’s new national interest investing effort. **Please see highlighted note in Qualifications section and make sure to submit complete documentation with resume.** Responsibilities + Direct and support collection of quantitative and qualitative data to assess public and private investment gaps in areas identified by IQT technologists as lacking sufficient early-stage capital. + Analyze collected data to assess the goals and impact of government and private early-stage investment. + Create and coordinate production of IQT-wide prose products, slides, and other materials to support strategic innovation outreach and communication to different audiences. + Ensure tracking of IQT’s national impact investing metrics and that internal data, documentation, and presentation materials are current and accurate throughout the organization. + Develop and help execute ongoing communications, briefings, roundtables, and other events with US government entities on national innovation strategy. + Working with technology and investment colleagues, distill knowledge of U.S. economic and national security importance from IQT investments and communicate same in prose. + Oversee background research on technology and innovation policy issues as needed. + Direct work of the Innovation Strategy Research Manager in support of goals and collaborate across the organization’s teams and subject-matter experts. Qualifications + Due to contractual reasons, U.S. Citizenship is required. + Master’s degree in relevant field requiring extensive data analysis, statistical analysis, and or quantitative research (not necessarily seeking a Data Analyst or Data Scientist). + 5+ years of professional experience involving technology, innovation, or private sector investment research and analysis. + At least one year leading research projects utilizing data analysis and/or statistical analysis, preferably involving technology innovation. + Familiarity (direct experience preferred) with projects involving automation and natural language processing (NLP) for categorizing datasets of mixed structured and unstructured data. + A track record of exercising initiative and demonstrating sound independent judgement. + Outstanding prose writing and communication skills and strong attention to detail. + A collaborative approach to organizational success. **Please submit a paragraph or two describing (or attaching) the data analysis projects you have led.
