The Director of Analytics Data Engineering will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining foundational data and capabilities, managing end-to-end data pipelines, and focusing on transformation, design, documentation, and user-friendliness. This highly visible leader will report to the VP of Enterprise Analytics and work closely with business leaders to understand needs and prioritize data roadmaps.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Director of Analytics Data Engineering, you will:
Lead a newly centralized team of highly skilled analytics engineers and managers.
Establish the vision and direction of the team, working closely with business leaders.
Create a best-in-class data delivery engine powered by industry-leading tools and techniques. · Develop use-case-specific data tables by combining elements across diverse data domains.
Construct robust data ingestion pipelines from internal and external sources.
Empower users to independently explore and answer data-related queries.
Streamline development timelines, minimize errors, and uphold the reliability of analytical products.
Optimize data warehousing processes and enhance data modeling practices.
Partner with Data Governance, Data Architecture, and Platforms teams to deliver and manage data.
Plan complex multi-quarter and multi-year data delivery roadmaps.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Director of Analytics Data Engineering if your background includes:
10+ years of experience working with complex datasets from various sources.
5+ years managing analytics engineering or data engineering teams, with experience managing Managers preferred.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; Master's/PhD a plus.
Extensive experience in data modeling and architecture within production environments, particularly using Snowflake and/or Redshift.
Expertise in designing, building, and deploying production data pipelines and ETL. · Extensive knowledge of relational databases and modern data stack technologies.
Proven ability to ensure data integrity and implement data governance best practices.
Demonstrated leadership managing high visibility cross-enterprise projects.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience in business intelligence and data visualization tools, such as Tableau.
Exceptional SQL skills are critical.
