Director of Annual Giving
Position Number: 001273 Department: Athletics (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Manage a state and national portfolio of 125-150 lead annual gift donors and prospects. + Develop plans and programs to maximize gift revenue and increase membership. + Develop a detailed annual giving calendar that includes plans to execute annual fund campaigns to optimize donor acquisition and retention. + Collaborate with external and internal teams to develop strategies to engage former student-athletes. + Implement data analytics to grow philanthropic support. + Lead and manage innovative fundraising strategies to build a larger base of donors to grow philanthropic support. + Create and implement effective and integrated communication strategies to increase philanthropy through donor acquisition, retention and renewal, reactivation and upgrades via seating and parking transactions. + Provide strategic direction for major University annual giving initiatives such as Giving Tuesday and Niner Nation Gives. + Manage creation, design and production of 49er Club collateral. + Manage and report on fiscal year metrics and furnish timely reports on progress to assigned goals. + Achieve annual giving productivity goals and metrics to include an average of 8 substantive in-person meetings per month. Minimum Experience / Education: + Bachelor’s degree and 3 years fundraising experience at a Division I athletics program + Proven success in building productive, long-term relationships with donors + Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal communication skills + Ability to work independently and multi-task in an ever-changing environment + Ability to travel and work nights, weekends, and holidays + Strong organizational and analytical skills + Must hold a current, valid driver’s license Preferred Education Skills and Experience: + Master’s degree and 5 years fundraising experience at a Division I athletics program + Minimum one-year experience in a lead annual fund/sales role within a Division I athletics program + Ability to interpret complex data to guide strategic decisions + Knowledge of fundraising techniques, principles and evolving priorities + Proven success in fundraising specifically substantial growth of an annual fund program at a Division I athletics program + Working knowledge of Paciolan and Microsoft Office Suite programs
