This role is a great opportunity for a motivated tax professional to grow into a broader finance skill set. As a Director, Asia Financial Operations you will be responsible for leading small teams that manage each of the above areas for the Riot offices in Asia as well as acting as a leader or mentor for Shanghai based finance teams reporting locally or reporting to leaders outside of China. Your craft expertise in tax will be a primary focus, but areas such as procurement and travel will also be important to your role both as a direct manager and as an office finance leader. You will report to the Senior Vice President of Tax & Treasury based in the U.S. and dotted line to the Vice President of International Finance.

Responsibilities
With support from discipline leaders, lead and mentor professionals in region as well as represent the tax, treasury, and financial operations teams in various leadership forums Review and guide tax compliance efforts for all entities in region to ensure timely filing and consistency with global methodologies Collaborate with tax, treasury, and financial operations leaders to support craft strategies and resource utilization plans Assist with global structuring, intercompany agreements, publisher agreements, and transfer pricing documentation Engage with tax authorities on tax audits and tax incentives agreements to confirm the results align with global strategies, methods, and standards Direct efforts of outside advisors to ensure they efficiently provide value to Riot and meet our quality standards Support the craft teams in the creation, modification, communication, and execution of finance policies (e.g., travel, purchasing, etc.) and process flows Provide regional leadership on central team initiatives related to systems management and controls management Communicate and report metrics to local, regional, and central leaders that drive better decision making and cost efficiencies Act as the office finance leader for the finance professionals in the China office regardless of direct reporting to ensure growth, alignment, and support is provided to all finance professionals
Required Qualifications
10 to 15+ years of total Asia tax experience, including: 10+ years managing finance teams (tax or other) 3+ years leading in a multinational organization Capable of communicating business concepts in English Bachelor’s degree in tax, accounting or finance-related field
Desired Qualifications
Advanced spreadsheet proficiency (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets - power queries, macros, dashboards, etc.) Understanding of Tax automation and systems
