Director of Benefits
What We Need: The Director of Benefits is responsible for the development, implementation, and communication of global employee benefit and well-being programs. This position will partner with key stakeholders and external vendors to align benefits with strategic business objectives, ensuring programs are competitive to attract and retain top talent while remaining cost effective. The Director of Benefits will also be responsible for oversight of U.S. and Canada payroll processing, compliance and controls. This role will drive the ongoing assessment of benefit program offerings and transformation in benefits at Brady. What You'll Be Doing: + Responsible for company’s global employee benefits strategy, including plan design, vendor selection/management, communication/education, and compliance. + Regularly evaluate plan offerings and recommends alternatives to maintain a competitive benefits program utilizing an in depth understanding of the benefits landscape and expertise in both technical aspects of benefit plan administration and market trends. + Provide oversight and direction to global HR teams on global benefit, retirement, and well-being programs to align plans and policies with business and talent objectives, and established budgets. Also assist with employee education and communication strategies where applicable. + Partner with global HR teams to ensure that statutory and voluntary benefit offerings are compliant and aligned to local market practices. Oversee annual renewals and design changes. + Develop a year-round communication strategy to drive awareness, understanding, and utilization of all U.S. benefit and retirement programs for both online and offline employees and their dependents. Collaborate with local HR and organizational development to help execute. + Partner with broker to understand plan expenses and execute targeted programs that create value among employees, influence overall health, and meaningfully reduce long-term healthcare costs. + Oversees the administration of U.S. and Canada benefit and retirement programs. + Lead the design and execution of annual enrollment, working closely with HRBPs and vendors. + Provide ownership of the U.S. benefits administration system, including site content, data accuracy, and system updates, to contribute to a positive employee benefits experience. + Monitors plans to maintain compliance with internal guidelines and all benefits-related laws and regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, DOL, and COBRA. Oversees preparation and review of plan documents, audits, and required compliance reporting and employee notices. + Responsible for oversight, compliance, and accuracy of the U.S. and Canada payroll function. + Keeps abreast of current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and other required reporting. + Coordinates with vendors, and supports all reporting and analysis for the Retirement Committee. + Responsible for benefits-related due diligence for mergers and acquisition activities. What You Will Need To Be Successful: + Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field. + 7+ years of progressively HR experience related to benefits and 401(k) plans, including plan design, cost analysis, and program administration. + 3+ years leveraging technology to enhance the benefits function and employee experience. + Experience working with a broker partner to enhance benefit plans and control costs. + Deep understanding of benefits packages, claims analysis, policies, and compliance requirements. + Ability to analyze data, apply critical and creative thinking to draw conclusions and develop solutions. + Ability to build rapport, trust, and to influence across various functions and organizational levels. + Demonstrated ability to communicate complex benefits information in a simple manner to varying levels of employees, including senior leadership. + Strong ability to coach, develop and monitor the effectiveness of direct reports. + Exceptional attention to detail and trustworthiness in handling confidential information. + Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
