About the Role:
As the Director of Portfolio Management, Portfolio Health within Target’s Brand & Portfolio Management Function, you will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing a brand portfolio roadmap and accompanying management routines that will enable Target’s Brand portfolio to deliver on ambitious growth plans. You will also play a critical role in developing project prioritization criteria and integrating prioritization routines within Enterprise business and cross functional partner processes. This role will require exceptionally close collaboration with the Brand Management pyramid leaders along with an array of cross-functional partners such as Insights, Enterprise Strategy, Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Merch Capabilities, Product Design, and Product Operations. You will lead and navigate horizontal priorities and portfolio initiatives across disparate businesses of varying size and scale across a wide array of retail Owned Brands within a complex, matrixed organization with many stakeholders, all while scaling a new capability for Target.
Core Responsibilities and Key Results:
Scale the Portfolio Health capability
Implement up a new Portfolio Health capability within an existing Brand & Portfolio Management Function. Leverage existing capability hypotheses and proof of concept work to shape and implement a scalable solution that drives impact, clarity of choice and efficiency in ways of working for Core Merchandising and Brand Management.
Define foundational elements such as: team mission, roles & responsibilities, ways of working, processes & routines, goals & objectives.
Implement change management best practices to set the team up for success.
Foster productive relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise to drive enrollment and advocacy.
Oversee Portfolio Routines
Lead portfolio strategic planning routines to deliver Brand & Portfolio Management outcomes according to our Long Range Plan and portfolio roadmap.
Lead Brand & Portfolio Management prioritization routines to create cross functional leadership alignment, team connection and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with Director of Portfolio Strategy to implement and manage portfolio priorities that cross categories and / or brand portfolios.
Facilitate cascade of key deliverables to relevant stakeholders and cross-functional teams via connectivity of Portfolio Routines to other core business processes.
Lead Portfolio Prioritization and Communication of Portfolio Roadmap
Establish Portfolio Heath key performance indicators, goals and measurement systems to facilitate prioritization using a defined set of criteria.
Manage Portfolio and Brand Roadmap to provide visibility to scope and timing of internal brand portfolio workstreams, including timing of consumer facing impact.
Manage Portfolio Calendar, including roster of brand led, consumer facing communication priorities and key details regarding each individual priority (e.g., Audience, scope, impact).
Lead annual and quarterly communication cascade of Portfolio and Brand Roadmap and Portfolio Calendar. Establish and integrate within existing business processes and routines to align priorities with key partners, including Merchandising leaders, Marketing, Design and Product Operations.

About You:
Four-year degree required or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
12+ years of relevant experience
Strategic thinking, collaboration, and planning skills; proven ability to prioritize & allocate resources
Strong analytical skills; skilled at mining and identifying compelling, nuanced, and actionable insights
Experience in building, leading, and motivating high-performing teams
Able to influence and communicate effectively across all levels and functions within an organization

This role will report directly to Target’s Senior Director of Portfolio Management
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
