Director of Brokerage
As Director of Brokerage, you will manage teams in a dynamic operational environment, to consistently exceed established goals, demonstrate a commitment to customers and a dedication to excellence and innovation and increase profits for the company.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily brokerage operations, including identifying and improving inefficiencies in processes, implementing procedures to improve, managing cost to budget, developing and managing KPIs. The SunOne Logistics Director will be an integral part of leading strategic long-term initiatives and implementing technology that supports the streamlining and automation of daily requirements.
The person in this role will report to the VP of Transportation and will work with them and other managers within the company to oversee the execution of market strategy that complements the overall strategic operating and growth plans. Preferred location for the roles is Grand Rapids, MI or Bartow, FL. Willing to consider candidates in other regions based on experience.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the freight brokerage division
· Collaborate and coordinate across transportation organization to look for new opportunities that will enhance the logistics network
· Lead, mentor, and manage a team of brokers and support staff
· Establish and maintain relationships with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders
· Oversee the negotiation of freight rates and contracts
· Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
· Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to stay competitive
· Proactively seek out opportunities to improve performance while reducing costs for the organization
· Identify, lead, or participate in project work as required
· Oversight and management of P &L

· Ability to develop and execute process and procedure across multiple groups
· Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines
Qualifications:
· College degree in supply chain, business, financial or other applicable focus area or
· 8+ years in logistics leadership roles with multi team or divisional operations
