The Department of Business Services at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for Director of Business Development. The Director of Business Development is tasked with improving business relationships, brand recognition, and financial growth in the areas of Print and Mail Services. The Director will work closely with management to identify objectives and sales goals. This role requires a proactive approach and meets with potential clients, maintains existing client relationships, and monitors market trends to identify new business ventures.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
Identify and research potential clientsDevelop and maintain client relationshipsMonitor projects to ensure they are progressing as expectedGather useful information from customer and competitor dataMake and give presentations to prospective clients and internal departmentCreate and implement processes for onboarding and communicating new projectsTrack, identify and add qualified prospects to sales pipelineDevelop and manage strategic partnerships to grow businessMeet with operational managers to stay abreast of new offerings and opportunities to share with clientsCreate estimates and proposals for clients.Communicate job specifications and client requirements to internal teams.Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree.
Experience: At least five years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in business development, sales, customer service, or a related role, within the printing industry.Degree in Business or related field preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience in creating accurate estimates and detailed proposals.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of the sales process, market dynamics, and print industry trends.Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams, with the ability to quickly learn new software systems.Ability to communicate job specifications effectively to internal teams.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.For additional information about the position, please contact: Christa Nuckols at vdm7xd@virginia.edu.
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
This position is located in Charlottesville, VA.
