Job Description

  

The Director of Business Development will drive Teledyne’s business growth by leveraging relationships and domain expertise to identify and secure new opportunities for CRAD, development, and production contracts across our space, astronomy, and commercial product programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship Building: Utilize existing and new professional networks to connect customer opportunities with solutions, identifying best-fit opportunities and shaping programs to align with Teledyne’s strengths.Solution Architecture: Collaborate with customers and Engineering to develop winning solutions that can be executed as programs.Pipeline Management: Provide accurate status updates on active pursuits, including potential values, probability of win/go, and timing. Track business development success metrics such as win percentage, rationale for win/loss, and marketing and proposal process efficiency.Tradeshow and Conference Representation: Attend tradeshows and industry events to maintain network contacts.Collaboration: Coordinate capture and roadmap activities with various Teledyne businesses to create joint offerings or leverage sales channels.Strategy Definition & Refinement: Maintain a 5-year technical and business strategy, adapting to emerging customer needs and providing input for investments and other decisions to benefit from market trends. Brief senior leadership on recommendations and incorporate feedback.Travel: Up to 30% travel may be required.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Cross-Functional Coordination and Communication: Strong skills in coordinating and communicating across functions.Adaptability: Ability to handle uncertainty and work with minimal oversight.Data Organization: Proficiency in organizing pursuit pipeline data (customer stratification, probability of win, potential value).Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and management levels.Ethics and Conduct: Exemplary ethics and business conduct, with a focus on safe work practices.Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.

Education and Experience:

Degree: B.S. or B.A. with ten (10) years of experience in high technology.Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with infrared focal plane array technology and semiconductor device physics and operation is a plus.

Other Qualifications:

U.S. Person: Required for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.Security Clearance: Active US DoD Secret/Top Secret or SCI clearance required.

Salary Range:

$174,900.00-$234,740.000
