Job Description

DDN is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Business Development to lead and expand our efforts in the AI market. The successful candidate will inherit a small team and will be responsible for building and scaling the team to drive large-scale AI deals in collaboration with strategic partners such as NVIDIA, Supermicro, and others. This role requires a visionary leader who can establish accountability, develop robust processes, and contribute significantly to the company’s growth in the AI sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership Development:

Cultivate and strengthen strategic relationships with key partners, including NVIDIA, Supermicro, and other technology vendors, to drive joint business opportunities.Identify and engage with new partners that complement DDN’s AI solutions portfolio.

Sales and Business Growth:

Lead the business development team to achieve and exceed sales targets for large-scale AI deals.Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones.Collaborate with sales leadership to align business development efforts with overall sales objectives.

Team Leadership and Development:

Inherit, manage, and grow a high-performing business development team.Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.Establish clear performance metrics and accountability standards.

Process Development and Optimization:

Build and implement business development processes from the ground up, ensuring efficiency and scalability.Establish best practices for deal sourcing, qualification, negotiation, and closure.Implement CRM tools and analytics to monitor pipeline health and team performance.

Market Intelligence and Strategy:

Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in AI and data storage.Provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership on market opportunities and strategic initiatives.Contribute to product strategy by communicating customer feedback and market demands to the product management team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with marketing, product management, engineering, and sales teams to align business development efforts with company objectives.Coordinate joint initiatives with partners, including co-marketing activities, events, and solution development.

Customer Engagement:

Engage with key customers and prospects to understand their AI infrastructure needs and position DDN’s solutions effectively.Represent DDN at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to promote our AI capabilities.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within the technology sector.Proven track record of driving large-scale enterprise deals, particularly in AI, data storage, HPC, or related fields.Experience working with or within companies like NVIDIA, Supermicro, or other relevant technology partners is highly desirable.Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams.Deep understanding of AI technologies, data storage solutions, and the enterprise technology landscape.Strong network within the AI and technology ecosystem.Exceptional leadership and people management skills.Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically.Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
