The Director, Business Development will play a key role in the continued growth of the company and support strategic initiatives working with health plans, hospitals and health systems, nephrology groups, and other healthcare organizations. This position is a core part of the team and will work collaboratively with the provider engagement team, and will report to the SVP, Provider Engagement. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a key member of the business development function and work closely with the leadership team to support complex deal execution and strategy in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Identify, convert, and support new leads by engaging with inbound and event-generated company interest, and develop effective outbound content and thought leadership in partnership with the marketing team. Responsible for running an early-to-mid stage business development pipeline with support from company leadership and company subject matter experts. Develop, cultivate, and manage ongoing relationships with healthcare providers, strategic partners, and contacts. Field inbound calls, website inquiries and outreach from prospective partners to help identify and evaluate new business opportunities. Collaborate with Somatus business development and marketing team to help generate content to support marketing materials, executive presentations, and thought leadership. Keep abreast of industry trends, market intelligence, and state/federal regulations and programs. Support and lead proposal writing to demonstrate company capabilities and secure new business opportunities. Gather insights and use data to drive acquisition of new businesses and clients. Play an active role in corporate strategy, technology product roadmap, and operational improvement efforts to improve performance and partner outcomes. Track key activities across new business opportunities to forecast and report on pipeline and using analytical skills to identify new strategies to drive company growth. Ability to travel to partner and prospect sites up to 30-40% of your time. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in enterprise sales, consulting, or commercial role working with health plans, health systems, medical group practices or other healthcare organizations. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Advance degree preferred. Possess strong business acumen and a proven track record of driving new business development and creatively structuring agreements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence both credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level. Ability to connect with diverse constituents and stakeholders across cross-functional teams (leadership, marketing, account management, product and development, data and analytics, market operations and clinical). Ability to work in a rapidly changing, matrixed environment. Demonstrated self-starter, strategic thinker, and ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere. Proven ability to lead and manage competing tasks independently and efficiently.
