The Director of Campus Engagement and Events is responsible for fostering a vibrant campus community through the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse range of events and engagement initiatives. This role entails strategic oversight of all student engagement initiatives and campus events, ensuring they align with the institution’s mission and enhance the overall student experience by promoting student involvement, and building a strong sense of community on campus. The Director will work closely with student organizations, faculty, staff, and external partners to create meaningful and impactful programs. Minimum Qualifications This position is located in Lake Campus, Celina, Ohio. Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in event planning, student engagement, or related areas. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required. Excellent time management and multitasking skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute a variety of events and programs. Proficiency in event management software and social media platforms. Proven leadership and team-building capabilities. Essential Functions and percent of time: Event Management: (60%) Develop and implement a forward-thinking engagement strategy that aligns with the university’s strategic goals and fosters a sense of community.  Create, implement, and assess campus activities to cultivate academic, residential, and co-curricular engagement opportunities.  Establish and pursue ambitious goals for student engagement, continuously assessing and refining strategies to maximize impact.  Plan, organize, and execute a wide range of campus events, including but not limited to cultural events, student organization activities, leadership development workshops, and social gatherings.  Collaborate with student organizations, faculty, and external vendors to ensure successful event execution.  Manage event budgets, logistics, and marketing strategies to maximize student participation and engagement.  Work closely with various campus departments, such as academic affairs, athletics, and residential life, to create a cohesive and collaborative approach to student engagement.  Establish partnerships with local community organizations and businesses to enhance event offerings and provide additional resources for students.  Promote diversity and understanding within the university and in its interactions with the community.  Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Student Engagement and Development: (30%) Develop and implement programs that promote student engagement, leadership development, and community building. Assist the Community Director of Housing/Athletics with programming within the residential housing units. Provide support and guidance to student organizations, including training, resource allocation, and event planning assistance. Coordinate student organization leadership training programs and monitor activity throughout the year. Foster a diverse and inclusive campus environment through targeted programs and initiatives. Hire, train, supervise and mentor student workers responsible for various forms of student programming/student development as well as event planning and campus engagement activities. Ensure all records of events, budgets, and student participation metrics are collected and maintained according to policies and procedures. Prepare reports and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and recommend and implement improvements.


Marketing and Communication: (5%) Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote campus events and engagement opportunities through various channels, including social media, campus newsletters, and digital signage. Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and Alumni Engage alumni and community members to support campus events and student initiatives. Ensure clear and effective communication with students, staff, and faculty regarding upcoming events and engagement opportunities. Maintain and update the campus events calendar and other relevant platforms.
