Director of Category Management

The Director Category Management is responsible driving overall growth, managing category profitability and collaboratively building a great customer experience. (S)he will drive the management, development and planning of insight led category, product and seasonal programming strategies for a multi-brand portfolio generating sales to deliver annual operating goals.

(S)he will lead a high-performing team, in a high-pace environment, who continuously assess products and services to deliver an unparalleled customer experience. (S)he will also lead the Enterprise in working with the Independent Marketing Alliance (IMA) as a participating/voting member of the PAC committee.

\n

Essential Duties: 

\n\nGuide and influence effective business planning of forecasting/supply to stay ahead of our customers and the marketplace.\nLead the development of the Enterprise category strategy and work with the category management team in growing category performance across the Enterprise to ensure objectives are met. \nAdjust category strategies as required to drive overall category performance, including sales growth and improved gross profit. \nCollaborate with the branch leadership to tailor category management strategies to leverage opportunities, assist with obstacles and drive performance. \nDevelop, and maintain the process of prioritizing the Right-Product Initiatives and communicates the scorecards of each of the initiatives across the Enterprise\nBenchmark the category performance against the industry to determine targeted market penetration. \nConstruct a clear understanding of cost drivers and external benchmarks across the categories identifying value levers to create tactics enabling incremental value. \nDevelop defendable pricing strategies for the categories and the Enterprise. Work with the Merchandising group with recommended operator cost based on market conditions. \nPresent to the branches the current status, financial benefits and upcoming opportunities of IMA and Shamrock RFP’s. Aggregate feedback and leverage as the voting member on behalf of Shamrock. \nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

Qualifications: 

\n\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related field. Master’s degree in applicable fields is preferred\n5+ years Category Management, procurement or product marketing experience\n3+ years’ experience leading teams\nFoodservice or retail experience a plus\nExperience interacting with Senior Leadership, Customers and Vendors on a frequent basis and is capable of running complex projects and presenting findings and conclusions to a broad, executive audience\nMust have a strong working knowledge of purchasing, planning and business intelligence software and demonstrated expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.\nExperience with financial analysis and modeling\nMust be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.\n\n
