Guests feel it; you'll feel it too. **What You'll Do** This position is responsible for soliciting and contracting local catering and social events for our hotels and restaurants. We're searching for individuals who are passionate about providing genuine heartfelt care to our guests and employees! Key duties of the job will be leading a team including but not limited to a Director of Catering, Catering Managers and Coordinators. **Some of your responsibilities include:** + Craft exciting and memorable site inspections, inventive and creative proposals that are comprehensive and understanding of the guest's needs. + Present creative customer-focused proposals, and prepare reports as needed and required by Kimpton Hotels. + Conduct outside sales calls to deliver new business and maintain existing business relationships. + Develop prospective accounts and social catering events from free market information as well as purchased lead sources, and book local corporate catering business and community events to an agreed upon goal within an assigned region. + Participate in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events within the hotel, industry, and customer organizations. + Take clients to breakfast, lunch or dinner, meeting for drinks, going off property to destination attractions. + Participate in the conducting of customer interviews and preparing call analysis reports + Upon closing, provide department colleagues with communication that will enhance our ability to deliver outstanding guest service. + Hiring, training, performance management of team members, including the Banquet team to ensure events meet Kimpton expectations. **What You Bring** + 5+ years catering/private dining sales experience + Experience in sales training, strategic account management, organizational skills, sales practices, tech savvy, space management, business analysis, goal achievement and product knowledge. + Successful track record with catering contract negotiations, operating systems such as Delphi, Synexis, and Nexis. + A genuine passion for guest service. You just "get" people and build relationships easily. + Outstanding organizational abilities and skill for taking initiative, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritizing. + Host site inspections at any time during a 7 days a week period -- thus a flexible work schedule is a must. The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
