RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for oversight of multi-state Central Admissions functions, its personnel, policies, procedures and practices within applicable state and federal laws and regulations. The position is responsible for providing information, analysis, and recommendations that contribute to admissions strategies aligned with business and operational goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for overseeing and managing the data exchange process between multi-state facilities and their various payers. Oversee the receipt of authorization for highest appropriate level of care to ensure responsible patient resource utilization and facility reimbursement. Direct/coordinate assessment of the clinical status and treatment needs of patients. Participate in interdisciplinary process to implement, coordinate and evaluate options and services to meet individual resident needs through communication and maximization of available resources. In collaboration with Vice President of Business Development, analyze data from a variety of sources, perform SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats), and suggest improvements or changes in strategy to meet business and operational goals. Work with facilities and payers to facilitate care coordination and information sharing. Work collaboratively with facility, business development and clinical personnel to resolve admissions issues. Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical and financial resources. Direct the adherence to applicable state, federal, and HIPPA laws and guidelines by Central Admissions personnel. Direct the timely and accurate maintenance of patient care records. Extensive multi-state travel. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BS degree in a health-related field is preferred If RN/LVN, must have a current, unencumbered license to practice profession in state Prior central intake and case management experience required Knowledge of medical terminology required Prior experience in admissions preferred Prior long-term care experience preferred Ability to understand and deploy oral and written instructions in English Broad knowledge base of insurance and managed care pre-authorization processes Excel, Word, and Power Point skills required; ability to learn other technologies such as PCC and Nexion dashboard Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in an environment with continual interruptions Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation Must have a reliable source of transportation Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required
