Job Summary
\nReporting to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Nursing Clinical Excellence influences and evaluates current and future clinical initiatives impacting patient safety, patient outcomes, nursing practice and organizational objectives as a member, leader or executive sponsor of clinical excellence. Serving also as an advocate for standardized evidence-based care across the organization through policy, order sets and other processes. Provide counsel and oversight regarding nursing scope of practice and BSWH nursing peer review.
\nThis position has oversight of the Magnet-designated Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine, and all associated clinics.
\nEssential Functions of the Role
\n\nCoordinate all activities related to the entity’s journey to Magnet designation/re-designation\nRequired to be well-versed on all Magnet standards and act as a resource and liaison between the Chief Nursing Officer, and others, to assess Magnet readiness\nInitiate, promote, and advocate for standardized, evidence-based clinical initiatives to enhance patient safety, best practices, and compliance with regulatory/legal requirements.\nCollaborate with BSWH colleagues to serve as a consultant regarding the nursing scope of practice and provide oversight for the BSWH nursing peer review process.\nLead, coordinate, and/or facilitate the implementation of clinical initiatives. Promote dissemination of complete, consistent, and timely communication to support customer-centric outcomes in support of organizational objectives.\nCoach, counsel, and mentor future nursing leaders to grow and maintain a highly professional nursing workforce capable of delivering competent and compassionate care to meet patient needs and expectations as well as organizational objectives.\nCollaborate with clinical leaders across the organization to evaluate, guide, promote, and advocate for clinical initiatives impacting quality and organizational care improvement efforts.\nLead development and implementation of a shared decision-making structure and support the work through clinical councils to operationalize quality improvement initiatives through thorough and thoughtful analysis resulting in feasible workflow and communication in the current environment of care.\nSupports nursing research through fiscal and human resources.\n\n\n
Key Success Factors
\n\n5 years of clinical experience, preferably in acute care, along with progressive leadership\nWell-versed in all Magnet standards and experience leading the Magnet Designation process, as a Magnet Director or Coordinator.\nMust possess advanced problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.\nQUALIFICATIONS
