As a Director of Clinical Operations (DCO), you will serve as a strategic clinical operations leader of up to fifty (50) points of service in a geographic region, to develop and manage highly functioning teams that consistently deliver the best in patient care and customer service. Consistently excel at managing senior hospital leadership (C-suite), physicians, and hospital administrative partners to ensure operational efficiency across all service lines, continued growth, and development of new business opportunities. Support the strategic direction set by Chief Operating Officer with strategic regional management of all points of service and personnel. Serve as a clinical expert resource to clinics regarding patient needs and clinical oversight. Facilitates implementation of practicewide initiatives, changes in policy/regulations/processes/procedures. Will provide accurate and timely communication to relevant leadership of PT Solutions concerning business operations, employee performance and development direction. Ensures an active pipeline of new therapists and potential leaders is maintained through planned and unplanned recruiting activities. Serve as mentor and/or instructor to developing therapists and students. Ensure compliance of all points of service with federal, state and local physical therapy practice guidelines. Responsible for regular review of mock JCAHO survey audits and weekly reporting from District Managers and Senior Clinic Directors. Oversee implementation of PT Solutions’ business direction and business practices on day to day basis. Actively sourcing new acquisition targets, hospital partners, and referral sources and ensuring current sources are maintained in a healthy fashion.


Time dedicated to patient care will be as needed and used as a tool to further train and develop others. As a physical therapist, facilitate and manage patient care duties following the guidelines established by practice act, licensing board, and under direction of and referral by physician in respective state. To oversee and provide, where qualifications exist, quality patient care according to practice standards of American Physical Therapy Association appropriate to age and disability related to limitation in function. To document and perform charge related functions. To be responsible for acting as a representative of profession, PT Solutions, and person in positive outlook. To market patient care services to community, physicians, other referral sources. To oversee patient care and clinic billing practices.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Maintain and display a high level of financial acumen and review of business operation performance. Develop budget and business plan for individual clinics/sites within the region in partnership with relevant leadership.Provide direction of clinical business plans including but not limited to: outlining scope of clinic services, determining need for new services, oversight of clinic spending practices and expense control, approval of compensation packages and adds to staff, marketing efforts, ensuring delivery of customer service and representation of PT Solutions in all aspects of clinic operation.Develop and implement appropriate support plan to meet specific, identified objectives, responding to negative trends in performance metrics (clinical outcomes, field audit results, etc.) by assisting Clinic Directors in the development of action plans to resolve issues.Participate in/encourages quality assessment and improvement activities. Generate reports for senior leadership. Provide direction regarding clinical process improvement methods and guide associates in the implementation of new process/procedures/methods.Maintain ongoing clinical knowledge through internal and/or external training programs, provide interpretation of knowledge and direction to staff.Collaborate with Administration and Operations Management to assist in meeting business and clinical objectives - supporting/maximizing current business activities, future growth and provision of quality patient care.Review and evaluate resources and staffing and ensures talent, manpower and resources are optimized to meet the clinical needs and objectives.Coach and evaluate performance of Senior Clinic Directors  and Clinic Directors regularly, and conduct formal performance appraisal annually.Ensure locations are in compliance with standards/company policies/procedures and external regulatory requirements, and that clinical documentation meets these requirements.Attend/participate in scheduled conference calls and/or meetings and/or internet reporting.

As needed:

Perform patient evaluation and outline of appropriate plan of care consistent with physician’s orders, third party payor requirements and/or expectations of patient.Perform treatments consistent with skill level and within boundaries of profession as outlined by practice act and APTA practice standards.Document all related information necessary for outline of treatment plan, treatment, ICD-9 and CPT coding, exercise flow sheets, home exercise programs, patient education, physician reporting and discharge summaries.Provide accurate and timely reporting of charges consistent with documentation to front office personnel or where appropriate service center directly.Ensure advancement of knowledge in company business practices regarding clinical and front office staff.

MUST HAVES

Graduate of approved Program of Physical Therapy by APTA and CAPTE or related field of study5+ years of progressive physical therapy practice experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.Previous experience in facility or health care management or business school related training.Licensure appropriate to governing body of state licensing board.Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.No previous or current sanctions by federal payors (CMS, Federal Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Champus/Tricare) or other payors inclusive of state workers compensation system.Willingness to live and travel in the region based on operational and market expansion needs
