Director of Clinical Ops
Overview $95,000 - $105,000 Directs clinical services and is accountable for adherence to federal, state and local laws, accreditation, and company policies and standards for patient care services. Accountable for measuring, monitoring, and managing quality of patient care, achievement of key performance indicators and organizational clinical performance. Provides supervision to the clinical manager(s) who ensure the delivery of quality care to patients. Responsibilities Ensures the care center's compliance with all regulations, laws, policies and procedures. Educates all staff members about state, federal, and accreditation requirements (as applicable). Maintains compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of care center personnel and accreditation standards. Ensures a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care is maintained that assesses and identifies all patient needs and communicates that need to the designated Clinical Manager, primary nurse or clinician and/or the patient's physician. Oversees and directs the activities of the Clinical Manager and Intake Coordinator in the provision and coordination of patient care. Implements/maintains appropriate clinician staffing levels. Ensures clinician productivity standards are met. Oversees the weekly Patient Care Conference and assures participation of all clinical staff. Ensures Patient Care Conference policy and protocols are followed. Responsible for the implementation of the care centers professional and clinical services, and performance improvement programs. Promotes and maintains standards for providing quality patient care by all staff of the care center. May function as Agency Administrator. Ensures Clinical Manager, clinician orientation and trainings occur per company standards. Provides oversight of the Performance Improvement Program and assures completion of the documentation for tracking and trending reports, i.e. infection control, complaints and occurrences. Provides oversight of and/or administers annual skills competency evaluation. Serves as a member of the Professional Advisory Committee and Performance Improvement Committee. Adheres to company policies and procedures and HIPAA/ Privacy Program, Compliance Program, and Code of Conduct and Ethics. Collaborates with Area Vice President of Clinical Operations in implementation of clinical operations, standards, and processes. Monitors and evaluates employee performance. Holds employees accountable for the attainment of defined goals and objectives. Executes effective performance redirection when needed. Develops employees through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job training and development opportunities. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the company Two (2+) years of RN experience in a home health or hospice environment Three (3+) years' experience in clinical leadership / management in health care, home health or hospice Current CPR certification Amedisys is an equal opportunity employer.
