Job Summary: 

The Communication Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective messaging and communication strategies for our Iowa-based agency.  The individual to fill this role will work closely with ICAP’s Program Directors. They must demonstrate a willingness to learn industry-appropriate terminology and positional needs.   

Responsibilities: 

Development of strategic marketing and communication plans; related campaign development and follow-through 

Cultivation of relationships within the industry 

Industry research and article writing, as needed 

Public speaking 

Meeting/event planning and management 

Creation of marketing materials and related graphics  

Selection and ordering of relevant promotional materials 

Website maintenance 

Requirements: 

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite 

Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite 

Ability to work toward professional designation.  

Strong computer skills and a high level of comfort in a virtual work setting.  

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.  

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.  

Ability to work well on a team.  

Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities 

 

Education/Experience: 

A Bachelor’s Degree in a Communications, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience  

7-10 years’ experience in a Communications, Marketing or related field 

Current insurance license is preferred, or a willingness to secure appropriate insurance licensing   

Physical Demands: 

Position entails long periods of remaining stationary, whether in a seated or standing position  

Must have access to a reliable source of transportation.  

Some travel may be required.  

Frequent and extended screen exposure and a large amount of typing
