Director of Compliance

This is a full-time, 12-month position and reports to the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. This position assists with the organization and administration of all aspects of the University’s compliance program. Duties include, but are not limited to conducting preliminary initial and transfer eligibility reads of prospective student-athletes; assistance with the maintenance of NCAA squad lists; assist with preparation of waivers (NCAA & MAAC) and serve as the primary contact for medical hardship waivers.

 

Essential Functions 

Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:

Primary oversight over daily compliance monitoring, including, but not limited to: recruiting activities, practice logs, playing seasons, award and benefits, employment registration and complimentary admissions; Coordination of camps and clinics program, as it relates to both NCAA compliance regulations and institutional policy; Assist with the enforcement and supervision of the institution’s Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policy. Monitoring, communicating information, and navigating issues related to the NCAA Eligibility Center and incoming eligibility and amateurism certification; Conduct initial eligibility preliminary evaluations for domestic and international prospective student-athletes; Assist with the review and evaluation of prospective transfer student-athlete eligibility; Assist in managing and monitoring complimentary admission distribution for home basketball games. Assisting the Assistant AD, Compliance as needed in preparing institutional, conference and NCAA reports, internal interpretive request, as well as waiver and violation submissions; Maintaining positive relationships with departmental coaches and staff, as well as campus partners to assist in maintaining a positive culture of compliance; Serve as a sport Game Day Administrator; Assist with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee as needed; Participate as a member of an institutional working group as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for compliance; Employment duties require some physical effort (e.g., standing, walking, and lifting), manual dexterity in operation of office equipment, extended period of time at a keyboard, and, at times, working hours outside the normal university schedule. Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics for Compliance, Director of Athletics and/or Senior Associate AD/SWA.
