The Director of Compliance is responsible for providing support to the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services for the UCR Department of Athletics Compliance Program. Responsibilities include supporting the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance services in the areas of rules education, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, personnel, recruiting, practice and playing seasons, and the self-reporting process. This individual must be able to communicate and function as part of the collaborative team within the Compliance Office and across departments.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
4 - 7 years of related experience.
Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours
Valid Drivers License
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Knowledge of complex U.S. visa and immigration procedures, compliance issues, and employment eligibility/authorization for international students and scholars.
Interpersonal skills.
Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance operational issues and activities, specifically at the Division I level.
