Director of Compliance and Sustainability - Hybrid - Sarnova
Overview Sarnova is seeking a Director of Compliance and Sustainability who will lead Sarnova’s corporate-wide sustainability and compliance programs. Sarnova is the leading national specialty distributor of health care products in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Respiratory Markets and is the industry leader in Revenue Cycle Management within Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The company operates through several market-leading companies including Tri-anim Health Services, the largest specialty distributor of respiratory products, Bound Tree Medical, the largest supplier of EMS products, and Cardio Partners, a full Sudden Cardiac Arrest Solution provider, and Digitech, the leader in EMS revenue cycle management. Hybrid Schedule: M&F home based, T-Th office based Responsibilities Job Summary: The Director of Compliance and Sustainability is responsible for overseeing and reporting on Sarnova’s corporate-wide sustainability program, which focuses on (i) ensuring the highest level of corporate governance, business ethics and compliance of laws; (ii) the integration of sustainability principles throughout our supply chain; (iii) promoting sound environmental practices within our operations and supply chain; (iv) developing initiatives to promote a safe and healthy work place for our employees and (v) active involvement and positive contribution to the communities where Sarnova operates. The successful candidate is a strategic and agile thinker and trusted business advisor, is operationally oriented, and is well networked and respected in the compliance, ethical business, and/or ESG community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and manage all aspects of Sarnova’s sustainability strategies Design strategies and action plans to implement, operationalize, monitor, evaluate, and report on priority areas Research, develop and implement needed policies, procedures and systems in collaboration with cross functional teams Design and recommend assessment processes and tools to identify risks and make improvements in the sustainability program Continuously monitor sustainability trends, leading practices, relevant industry certifications and legal requirements that may affect the company and adapt programs as needed Monitor compliance with the company’s Code of Conduct and related policies/procedures Conduct and report on compliance audits, develop and implement corrective action plans and report on results of audits and corrective plans Design and schedule corporate-wide compliance education and training programs Lead the annual corporate risk assessment and mitigation process and report outcomes and recommendations Conduct annual environmental risk assessment Propose and implement strategies to address various environmental initiatives around the reduction of Scope 2 and Scope 3 GHG emissions, including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, and recycling Track, calculate and report out on GHG emissions targets and reductions Develop sustainability strategies for the company’s supply chain with a specific emphasis on the company’s Curaplex brand and collaborate with business managers to implement agreed upon strategies Collaborate with business managers and human resources to develop inclusive human capital management processes and initiatives Report on various priority areas of the sustainability program to relevant stakeholders, including Sarnova’s Board of Directors, the Senior Leadership Team, the Compliance Committee and the United Nations Global Compact Skills/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (Juris Doctor preferred but not required) Minimum of five years of compliance and/or sustainability experience Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills Ability to collaborate cross-functionally (e.g. Senior Leadership, sales, marketing, IT, HR, finance, customer service, warehouse) to achieve compliance and sustainability objectives Demonstrated ability to self-identify risks/trends and generate solutions while balancing the operational needs of a business Ability to clearly, concisely, and comprehensively translate and communicate complex concepts at all levels of an organization Proven ability to draft clear and complex policies, processes, procedures Strong research skills Commitment to discretion and strict confidentiality of sensitive information Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve competing interests Self-motivated, goal oriented and results driven Sarnova is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
