Job DescriptionReporting to the Vice President, the Director of Construction is responsible for organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling all operations carried out by the company's personnel in managing construction, renovation, and fit-out projects for companies.
They will act as a key player in the application of rules relating to health and safety at work, the environment and quality standards. He/she supervises and coordinates all resources assigned to carrying out and monitoring work and submits reports and recommendations to his/her immediate superior.
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and supervises, with the project manager, construction, renovation, and site development programs and plans, evaluates costs and duration, establishes schedules and defines required resources.Analyzes problems and finds appropriate solutions.Supervises work progress on a daily basis.Enforces procedures, methods, standards, and processes specific to the sector, Oversees the equipment acquisition process and ensures that procedures and policies are properly followed.Plans staffing needs, selects, and hires personnel under his/her supervision.Supervises the preparation of budgets for personnel under his/her responsibility and submits them to his/her superior.Ensures optimal use of allocated budget (control of operating and capital expenditure).Analyzes variances with supporting explanations.Carries out studies and analyses related to his/her activities and submits reports and recommendations to his/her superior.Ensures ongoing coordination between the various resources under his/her supervision, as well as with the SNF Group's purchasing, sales, shipping/receiving, human resources and administration departments.Ensures that employees under his/her responsibility and/or any other employees comply strictly with health and safety policies and proceduresQualificationsDegree in administration or engineering is an asset.Has a minimum of ten (10) years experience in construction operations management. Has supervised a team of employees for at least five (5) years.Proficient in the use of computer systems.Has been planning and coordinating production for several years.Recognized as a leader and coach.Has mastered the preparation and follow-up of operating budgets, with appropriate analyses.Is comfortable reading and making decisions based on financial statements.Results-driven mentality, with a propensity for speed and actionExceptional communication skills, highly organized, collaborative and detail orientedAutonomous and resourceful.Ensures good written and verbal communication.Willingness and ability to travel.Valid PassportBilingualism in English and Spanish considered an asset.Additional InformationWe Offer:
