Ameresco has a new opportunity based for a Construction Director to join our Alternative Fuels Division a leader in the planning, scheduling, and management of construction activities for our multimillion-dollar landfill gas energy projects.
Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on leadership, planning, direction, and management of renewable energy project sub-contract administration, construction, and commissioning resources to assure total quality and project delivery on time and within budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Plan, budget, track, and effectively manage organizational and team resources to achieve business objectives
Manage the construction interface with engineering, commissioning, operations, and business development teams including the establishment of interdepartmental processes
Oversee the development of detailed scopes of work and preparation of subcontractor bid and contract documents including negotiations and/or coordination of legal, business, and risk management reviews
Evaluate technologies and equipment to recommend the most suitable for each project application
Monitor vendor and subcontractor coordination to assure competitive cost, best schedule, and delivery to meet project budgets
Perform critical review of all submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions
Manage, review, and approve project construction costs and budget activity and provide monthly workbook update guidance to direct reports including forecasts of remaining cost and project revenue
Prepare, accurate, timely, and detailed monthly project status reports and schedules while providing leadership and guidance of schedule management to direct reports
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to generate project implementation efficiency and generate savings
Visit existing operating plants to review existing conditions and offer ideas to improve or save money on future plants
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes
Cultivate positive and effective business relationships
Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS in Construction Management or Equivalent years of relevant technical experience
Minimum of 10 years of electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power construction project management work experience focusing on complex renewable energy and commercial solar installation projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing and developing careers of direct reports with varying levels of experience.
Experience managing multiple subcontractors and consultants on complex, multiphase projects.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.
Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication, and presentation skills.
Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and cloud-based construction management software such as Procore or equivalent.
Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by the resident state.
Travel required.
