The Director of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is responsible for leading the CQI process for the medical education program at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) at Old Dominion University (ODU). Successful candidate is an experienced administrator with demonstrated success in leading the planning and/or implementation of continued quality improvement and strategic initiatives from inception to completion.
ResponsibilitiesLead all administrative aspects of medical student education CQI initiatives; develop strategies for SOM initiatives and establish processes that align with accreditation standards and strategic plans.
Provide strategic and operational oversight into a system for ongoing CQI and accreditation readiness; communicate action items to curriculum governance committees to ensure appropriate implementation and monitoring.
Develop processes and procedures for CQI with faculty and staff based on identified needs and best practices; facilitate review and provide editorial input to support LCME continuous readiness and monitoring of the Data Collection Instrument (DCI) documents, ensuring compliance with the LCME.
Recommend and participate in the development of SOM policies and procedures; maintain the SOM academic policy library and/or database; serve on SOM policy-making committee.
QualificationsExtensive knowledge of LCME and accreditation standards.
Preferred: Masters degree in health professions, education or related field
Five years of experience leading the planning and/or implementation of continued quality improvement
Experience managing and leading teams in undergraduate medical education preferred
