The Director of Corporate FP&A position is responsible for the governance and consolidation of corporate financial planning and analysis, capital planning governance and reporting, and advanced analytical and strategic support for internal and external meetings and communications, including, but not limited to, quarterly earnings & investor decks and Board of Director presentations. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.

Senior Vice President of Finance & Treasurer

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Directs the annual budgeting and monthly and forecasting cycles Leads the consolidation of the Company’s financial budgets and forecasts Supports development of Company’s Long-Range Plan Lead 3-statement financial modelingManages corporate capital planning and reportingLeads headcount and corporate functions expense planning & analysisCoordinates and executes Company-level financial communication including, but not limited to, quarterly earnings release support, Board of Directors, and external financial presentations.Key contributor providing analytical support for the quarterly and annual public company financial reporting requirements as well as quarterly investor call support.Creates and maintains financial and operational models to support and forecast numerous aspects of the business.Partners with business and finance stakeholders through monthly forecasting cadence and capital governance processes.Helps maintain and enhance the financial forecasting systemResponsible for directly managing, retaining, and developing a small team of corporate FP&A professionals.Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer informationPerforms other requested tasks and duties

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

"Business-minded" finance leader who has the ability to go beyond the numbers in analyzing business matters and makes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of The Container Store and our customers.Must have outstanding analytical skills and a high degree of intellectual curiosity, with ability to analyze large amounts of information to draw actionable conclusions and make business recommendations.Ability to partner across functions to discuss financial plans & variances, align on targets, risks and opportunities, and evaluate & model business cases.Ability to drive change, including FP&A process improvements including, but not limited to, reporting, automation, and systems.Strong leadership presence, and great communication skills with the ability to present their views in a clear and compelling manner, both orally and in writing with all levels within the organization.Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once and effectively prioritize mission-critical initiatives.Attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure. Experience leading and managing others including effective delegation, career development, motivating, coaching, directing, and evaluating work performance.Energetic, resourceful, and hands-on individual with a strong bias for action and sense of urgency; must be willing to "roll up the sleeves".Operates with a growth mindset while listening to, applying, and proposing new ideas that improve our processes and practices. Experience, Education, Certifications, Affiliations and Other Requirements:

Experience: 10+ years in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A); retail experience a plusEducation: Quantitative undergraduate degree, preferably with concentration in Business, Finance or Accounting; MBA and/or CPA a plusStrong understanding of corporate finance and a very solid understanding of accountingDemonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelingExperience with MicroStrategy, Adaptive Planning, Multiview Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth areaAbility to travel 10% a year, based on the business needsAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe mannerIs committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
