Director of Credit and Collections
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Credit and Collections to join our team in the manufacturing industry, located in Taunton, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee the Customer Financial Services team, ensuring all activities are organized, accurate, efficient, and timely. This position encompasses the entire credit management process for a leading consumer products company, and your expertise in credit and collections management, coupled with self-management skills, will be instrumental in achieving success in this role. Responsibilities: • Lead the Customer Financial Services team to ensure all activities are organized, accurate, efficient, and timely. • Manage the entire credit management process, including assessing customer creditworthiness and setting credit lines. • Oversee order releases and invoice processing to ensure prompt cash application. • Communicate effectively with customers, resolving discrepancies and reconciling accounts. • Enforce internal controls and oversee rebate administration to maintain financial integrity. • Mentor staff and foster professional development within the team. • Drive continuous improvement in credit and collections management processes. • Utilize various software systems including Accounting Software Systems, B2B collections, CRM, and others for efficient customer service. • Oversee billing functions and manage accounts receivable. • Monitor customer accounts and cash activity, taking appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Must have extensive knowledge and proficiency in Accounting Software Systems • Demonstrated experience in B2B collections is required • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a must • Strong understanding and experience in Accounting Functions is essential • Must have experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) • Experience in overseeing Billing Functions is required • Must be proficient in managing Cash Activity • Experience in Cash Applications is required • A strong background in the manufacturing industry is preferred • Must have excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required • The ability to make data-driven decisions and use analytics to improve processes and results is necessary • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required • Must demonstrate ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure own behavior, and the behavior of others, is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.
